1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the InkBook mobile app, inkbook.gg, and related services. In this policy, “InkBook,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of InkBook - Illumineers’ Network.
2. Information we collect
Account and contact information
When you create or connect an account, we may receive your email address, name, provider account identifier, provider username, and profile image from Apple, Google, Discord, or an email sign-in flow. You may also provide an InkBook username, display name, biography, social handles, favorite store, avatar choices, and profile visibility settings.
Play Hub and community information
InkBook imports publicly available Ravensburger Play Hub information, including player identifiers and usernames, stores, events, registrations, pairings, opponents, results, and standings. If you claim a Play Hub profile, we connect that public history to your InkBook account. We also store the friendships, favorite friends, favorite events, and other in-app connections you choose to create. InkBook does not read or upload your device address book.
Content you provide
This may include deck names and details, ink selections, event-deck assignments, private match notes, opponent observations, profile content, social links, notification preferences, and support messages.
Play Hub claim screenshots
When you choose to claim a Play Hub profile, InkBook receives only the screenshot or screenshots you select from your photo library. We privately store them and send them to OpenAI through its business API to extract visible event details such as the event, placement, record, and opponents. The extracted details are compared with imported Play Hub results to identify your profile. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default.
Location and device permissions
If you allow foreground location access, InkBook uses your current location to find nearby stores and events. Location is requested only while you use discovery features and is not saved as a field on your InkBook profile. Search boundaries derived from your location are sent to our data service to return nearby results.
If you use the QR scanner, the camera is used to read an InkBook QR code; InkBook does not keep the camera image. If you add an event to your calendar, InkBook requests write access for that action. If you enable notifications, we store a push token, device platform, and notification preferences so Expo and Apple Push Notification service can deliver the notifications you selected.
Purchases and technical information
Optional gelato tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. InkBook receives the product and transaction status needed to finish the purchase, but we do not receive your full payment card or bank details.
Our app, website, and infrastructure providers may process technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, browser or device type, app version, request timing, error details, and server logs. InkBook does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking technologies.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and authenticate accounts;
- connect an InkBook account to the correct Play Hub profile;
- show event history, statistics, friends, stores, events, and personalized app features;
- apply the profile visibility choices you select;
- deliver requested notifications and complete optional tips;
- respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests;
- maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and prevent misuse of InkBook; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
InkBook does not sell personal information, display third-party advertising, or use personal information for targeted advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites.
5. Your privacy choices
- Use InkBook’s profile controls to choose whether supported profile details are public, visible to friends, or private.
- Change or remove profile content, social links, friendships, favorites, decks, and private notes in the app.
- Disconnect a sign-in provider after ensuring another sign-in method remains connected.
- Disable location, camera, calendar, photo, or notification permission in iOS Settings. Some related features will then be unavailable.
- Turn supported notification categories on or off in your InkBook profile.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal information by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep account and user-provided information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, and meet legal obligations.
Unfinished Play Hub claim drafts expire after 24 hours and their screenshots are scheduled for deletion from private storage. Screenshots for approved, rejected, or revoked claims are also scheduled for deletion after the claim is resolved. Structured verification records may remain with the claim until the account is deleted or they are no longer needed.
You can delete your InkBook account in the app by opening Profile, scrolling to Account Admin, and tapping Delete account. You may also request deletion by emailing us from the address associated with your account. Deletion removes your authentication account, InkBook profile, private notes, decks, friendships, connected identities, claim screenshots, and other account-linked private content, subject to limited legal, security, and backup retention.
Public tournament information imported from Play Hub, such as player names, pairings, results, and standings, remains as historical public data even after an InkBook account is deleted. Deleting an InkBook account removes the account’s claim and private connection to that data; it does not remove the underlying Play Hub record.
7. Legal bases and international processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the service you request, with your consent for optional permissions, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing InkBook, and to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent by changing the relevant permission or contacting us.
InkBook and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on contractual and other safeguards for international transfers.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include authenticated access, database access controls, private storage for claim evidence, and encrypted network connections. No system can guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
InkBook is a general-audience companion app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the consent required by applicable law, contact us so we can review and delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when InkBook’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
